Jamie Oliver is always
doing
something of interest. He raised issues over kids school
meals, setup his restaurants which give proper training
to deprived youngsters and recently he has been promoting
the wonderful diversity of food and food producers in Great
Britain.
The recent show (and book) has seen him travelling the length and breadth of our amazing country in a converted Bedford army truck ! This truck has been lovingly converted to Jamie's own specification - by Fullbridge Restoration. They are an Essex based automotive firm - who specialise in high end restoration and fabrication jobs. You see - Jamie's "spec" for a truck is just a little bit different to yours or mine ... his vision was to convert it so that it ended up a "Pub on wheels".
Knowing our readers are interested in this sort of thing - we can tell you that this involved stripping the whole thing down to its chassis. Then it was re-built to make room for Table and Chairs to seat 12 people, Oak panelling for a real "Pub Atmosphere" and that finishing touch that is so often found in Pubs - a wood fired Italian Pizza Oven !!!

So when Jamie says "I am popping over to friends for a Pizza"
it has an entirely different meaning to most of us !
Anyway this "Pub / Truck" hybrid even has a sign outside
of it - and this we think is brilliant. Its what we here
at HGV HQ - think sets him apart from the other rich and
famous people.
We can all see his passion for his food, campaigns, good causes - but most of all its his sense of humour. The Pub sign is a great example of this - as its been called something a little naughty !
In fact it is really rather rude and so we cannot write it on a family site - however there's a picture just above of the sign. If you don't get it - try saying the name slowly out aloud !! You will then see what we mean very quickly ...
